Processing raw materials adds value to products which at first gave relatively few profits: they can now be sold against much higher prices. The processing also provides more opportunities for employment.
An example of processing raw materials is the production of oil. Marcels trains and coaches groups in this oil production process. After buying peanuts, sun flower seeds, moringa seeds or other oil keeping seeds from local farmers or surrounding communities and peeling of the seeds, oil can easily and efficiently be produced with a press which can be used everywhere. The presses give the opportunity to produce large quantities of oil (see www.piteba.nl for more information about the used oil press). The pressed peanut or sun flower oil are sold in ‘whole sale’ at the market, but are also available in decent, new plastic labeled bottles in supermarkets.
